Why should I have a harp at my wedding?

We’re getting to the time of the year when brides start to look for musicians at their wedding, I thought it would be a good time to talk a little about why you should definitely consider having a harp at your dream wedding!

Many couples are unsure of why they should have a harp, or even of what the harp can do at their wedding. Fret not! The harp is a highly versatile instrument, and you may just be surprised at what it can do for you.

The beauty of the harp is that it can play completely on its own as a solo instrument. In this way, it is a more affordable alternative to a string quartet. If you like, a harp can also be paired in a duo with another instrument (flute and harp is always my favorite), or perhaps even be part of a trio (for example, a grouping with violin, cello, and harp).

Due to the common perception of the harp as an instrument of Biblical or Classical literature, wedding couples may sometimes have the perception that a harp can only play classical music, or that it is outdated. While a harp can certainly play classical music (and sound elegant while doing it), the harp is also more than capable of playing popular music! Check out one of my videos below:

One of my most-requested love songs, there is indeed an enchanting charm about it that is indeed a tale as old as time.

Common questions about the harp:

Q: I would like to have a harp at my wedding, but I’m not sure when to schedule the performance

A: A harp is appropriate for the following contexts: during the cocktail reception, as background music during the meal, or simply as live music during your church wedding. Please chat with me to find out more, as I would love to send you a customised music list to suit your theme!

Q: I would love to have a harp at my wedding, but I am worried about the logistics and transport

A: Rest assured, the price of transportation is included in my quotations, so you will not need to make transportation arrangements!

At the venue itself, any location that is wheelchair-accessible will also be accessible for a harp. I am also able to move the harp up a few steps if I have help available.

If you have been looking for that extra touch to make your wedding memorable, a harp may just be what you need. Drop me a message and I will be most happy to discuss celebrating with you!

50th anniversary celebration

This is easily the most beautiful condo function room I’ve ever been to. I really salute the team who designed and brought this condo to fruition. Plus, the table decor is immaculate! I love the space. It is small and intimate but very luxurious, with every little touch well thought-out. And beautiful at every turn, of course.

Spent a lovely hour here serenading guests at the celebration of a married couple’s 50th anniversary. It’s not easy to be married for 50 years, and I wish the still-happily-married couple all the best!

I love my new iPad Pro. Such a useful piece of my musician’s kit, and so much utility bundled in a little package! I can get two pages on one screen, and it has cut my page turning by half. I can also digitise my existing music collection, and I am really excited about it!
